We are excited to share a major milestone: The Bernard Group and Smartpress have officially relocated to a brand-new, cutting-edge two-building campus in Chanhassen, MN.This move represents more than a new address. It brings our teams, technology, manufacturing, and creative leadership together in one coordinated environment designed for speed, precision, and long-term growth. Our new campus is located just off Prince Rogers Nelson Memorial Highway and marks a significant operational milestone for both organizations.
Building A: 1650 McGlynn Road
Building B: 1700 Coulter Blvd

Key Takeaways:
- One integrated campus, one synchronized system. Five separate facilities are now consolidated into a two-building campus, aligning strategy, design, production, and fulfillment in a single coordinated workflow.
- Faster execution with tighter quality control. Centralized operations eliminate internal transit delays, reduce handoffs, and create a continuous path from concept through to installation.
- Operational growth aligned with environmental responsibility. Reduced vehicle movement, optimized energy systems, and high-efficiency space planning lower our environmental footprint while supporting long-term scalability.
Why the New Digits?
The move to a central Chanhassen location was driven by our desire for evolution. We are fundamentally transforming our operational approach by consolidating five separate buildings into a streamlined two-building campus (along with our dedicated Distribution Center).
Buddy Kramber, VP of Operations and a member of TBG’s senior leadership team, shared,
“This campus allows us to operate as one synchronized system. Strategy, design, production, and kitting now move with fewer barriers and greater accountability.”
Streamlining for Speed and Quality
In print and visual communications, execution velocity matters. Physical separation between teams introduces friction. By unifying our operations, we removed internal transit delays and improved real-time collaboration between design, prepress, production, and kitting.
Shawn Daly, Director of Print Production remarked, “When workflow friction disappears, quality improves. Fewer handoffs mean tighter control and better outcomes for our clients.”
The result is a more continuous process from initial concept through final delivery.

Fostering Culture and Growth
Bringing our diverse teams into a shared space naturally fosters continuous employee development. This inspired environment makes mentorship constant and allows for spontaneous “aha!” moments to happen. The unique energy of working together simply cannot be duplicated.
A More Responsible Operational Model
Consolidation significantly reduces our environmental footprint.
Previously, materials, equipment, and projects moved between facilities, increasing vehicle usage and redundant energy consumption. The new campus eliminates most inter-site transit and integrates modern energy-efficient systems.
Measured benefits include:
- Significant Reduction in Vehicle Emissions: The daily back-and-forth transit between sites required frequent use of company and vendor vehicles. Consolidating our logistics has sharply curtailed this internal transport need, leading to a substantial decrease in fossil fuel consumption, thereby reducing the release of greenhouse gases and air pollutants associated with vehicle operation.
- Lowered Energy Consumption and Increased Efficiency: Our previous spaces were not optimized for our integrated workflow, leading to redundant energy use for heating, cooling, and lighting across multiple sites. The new, custom-designed facility incorporates modern, energy-efficient building systems and a layout optimized for high-density, multi-functional use. This smart, optimized space utilization directly translates to lower overall energy demand and usage.
This consolidation ensures that our continued and necessary business growth is intrinsically linked to and balanced by environmentally responsible practices. We are building a more efficient operation and, critically, a more eco-friendly future.
Inside the New Campus
Our new campus is an intentional experience built to showcase the creativity and precision we deliver to our clients. Discover some of the distinctive features that make this space truly unique:
Intentional Wayfinding and Signage
As visual identity experts, it was crucial that our new space excelled at wayfinding. Our operational signage is more than just functional; it seamlessly extends our brand, making it easy and stylish for both employees and visitors to navigate our expansive campus.

The Smartpress Wall and Gallery Hall
As you explore our new space, you’ll first come across the Smartpress Wall, a vibrant display celebrating the innovation and craftsmanship of our online printing platform. Further along, the Gallery Hall features examples of the incredible work we create, constantly inspiring us and reinforcing the core purpose of our efforts.

Collaborative Office Environment
Our new campus embodies our “work hard, dream big” ethos, reflecting it in every detail from the high-end finishes to the integrated technology. The design prioritizes flexibility, offering a variety of spaces to suit different work styles. The office includes open-concept collaboration zones for sparking new ideas, as well as quiet areas (phone booths and pods) designed for deep focus.

The campus balances energy and focus. Open collaboration zones support creative exchange, while enclosed pods and quiet rooms allow for deep work. Integrated technology supports seamless communication across departments.
Vice President, Human Resources, Jody O’Neil reminds everyone, “We designed this campus to reflect TBG’s culture and ethos. We are quietly confident in the work we produce. It speaks for itself. Our environment is welcoming, collaborative, and grounded in respect for teamwork and diverse perspectives.”
