Partnerships

At The Bernard Group, we believe in making positive change by carefully sourcing the material we print on and build with, continually integrating environmentally-conscious practices, and supporting our employees and local community.

United Nations Global Compact – TBG aligned our operations and strategies with the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

Forest Stewardship Council Chain of Custody Certification (FSC CoC) – TBG became FSC CoC Certified in 2024. As a producer of finished wood and paper-based goods, this certification allows TBG to display the globally recognized labeling and trademarks and verifies that the material has been identified, tracked, and kept separated from non-certified materials throughout the supply chain.

Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) – TBG has brought in many FSC-labeled products to have at the ready for clients and programs, ranging from our woods (we have our own Millwork facility right here in Chanhassen, MN, where we are headquartered) as well as papers and unique materials such as wallpaper and floor graphic products.

Ecovadis – A globally trusted, third-party sustainability rating system that provides businesses with a comprehensive assessment of their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. It allows companies to gain insights into their sustainability practices, manage risks, and demonstrate their commitment to ethical operations to stakeholders—particularly when evaluating suppliers within their supply chain.

British Standards Institution: ISO 14001 Certification – Certifying body for environmental standards. Maps out the framework TBG follows to employ an effective environmental management system.

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) – We partner with CDP for our environmental reporting to promote transparency and accountability with our stakeholders.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Green Power Partner – Joined to help lead and educate on water and energy conservation, minimizing greenhouse gases, reusing solid waste, and reducing pesticide risks.

Trees, Water & People – Smartpress and The Bernard Group supported their Indigenous Lands Program in the planting of 10,240 trees.

Ellen MacArthur Foundation – We are members of Ellen MacArthur Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.

The Nature Conservancy – We are members of The Nature Conservancy, an environmental nonprofit that impacts conservation in 81 countries.
