Recognizing the environmental impact of traditional manufacturing, we’ve transitioned our entire range of five magnet products to utilize eco-friendly materials. Our Commitment to Eco-Friendly Materials
Manufacturing with recycled magnets just makes sense. After all, the Earth itself is a magnet.

This innovative recycled magnet process integrates with The Bernard Group’s broader commitment to sustainability, offering another healthier printing solution for our conscious clients. The magnet material itself contains 75% recycled content, 100% of which is pre-consumer recycled content.
Our magnets, complete with vibrant printed vinyl face, are part of an efficient closed-loop recycling system:
- We receive rolls of high-quality recycled magnet material from our trusted vendor.
- Post-printing, any unused magnet scrap is returned to our vendor.
- Our vendor recycles this scrap magnetic material, transforming it into a new rolls.
- These new rolls of recycled content magnets are then sent back to us for future printing projects.
(As a customer-focused manufacturer, we’re all about full disclosure: The vinyl face is not made of recycled content. But don’t worry, we are actively exploring sustainable alternatives for this component.)

Our Journey to Sustainable Manufacturing
Our goal was to offering recycled magnets was just the beginning. As a sustainable business, we continuously strive to minimize our environmental footprint. In 2002, we took a significant step by initiating the recycling of our own magnetic material scrap for the first time.
We set our sights high, wanting to improve the performance of our waste program throughout all facilities across The Bernard Group and Smartpress. Our ultimate objective was to divert 500 tons of waste to its proper disposal.
We are proud to share that we exceeded this target, successfully redirecting a total of 538 tons of waste. Plus, we enhanced employee engagement in our recycling program through improved internal communication (turns out, the right email goes a long way).
