Engineer a self-contained, backlit wall module to display the client’s thirty-six existing eyelashes and packaging, along with a removable supporting graphic. The modules needed to “fit” in a variety of merchandising spaces ranging from walls to towers. The modules also needed to be easily assembled and installed by store associates. The main challenge was ensuring the components fit within the module while allowing zero light leakage. Low production cost and tight timelines were also factors.
The module frame was injection-molded, ensuring
tight tolerances and zero light leakage around the removable components. Made from a high-strength ABS plastic, TBG was able to make the frame lightweight while also durable, given the possibility of installation in high-traffic spaces. 36 different removable backlit “eye beauty shot” graphics of each lash type were printed UV digital on backlit paper, with 5mil gloss lam over Opticlear adhesive, mounted to .040 PETG.
The graphics “snap” into the rear of the module and the existing lashes slide into a molded clear “pocket”, for completely tool-less installation and removal. The entire module assembly hooks onto a store-specific, mirrored-acrylic wall with laser-cut mounting holes, ensuring a tight fit and zero light leakage around mounting hooks. The wall is backlit using an array of LED light sources mounted within the wall.
Initially, 1400 units have shipped to multiple stores. The stores that have received the fixture are experiencing a dramatic increase in lash sales, and with each lash sale, an increase in add-on beauty products.
